Information

Terms & Conditions

Mail Order
Everything is available by Mail Order throughout the UK. Our Packaging & Carriage Charges apply to any UK Postal Address. Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Isles and Channel Islands which exceed 2kg in weight (Royal Mail weight limit) will incur an extra charge. Please ring for Packaging & Carriage Charges for Overseas orders. We reserve the right to amend carriage charges as necessary.

Order Notice
The majority of our products are personalised and are therefore made especially for you. For this reason we ask for 6 weeks notice on all orders. We always try to accommodate a rush order if we can, but please call first !

Payment
Online orders are processed through Paypal and full payment is required when placing the order.
Alternatively you can place your order by telephone and pay over the phone. A 20% non refundable deposit is required with all telephone orders. You can also post us a cheque or postal order. Full payment is required no later that 14 days before your order is despatched. Cheques payable to Chocolate Chatter.

Order Confirmation & Proof Sample
When you place an order we automatically send you an order confirmation and a proof sample. If your order is a “rush order” we will email your order confirmation and a scanned image of the sample to you. We ask you to check this sample carefully and make any changes you may require. Once you are happy with your sample, you must sign and return our Order Confirmation – we will not proceed with your order until we receive a signed Order Confirmation Slip from you.

We aim to post all proof samples within 2 – 3 weeks, but when busy we have to work in strict function date order, so please be patient with us. If you decide you no longer like what you had ordered, you can change to a completely different product !

Samples
Due to the level of requests we receive, we regret that we are unable to send out samples free of charge. However you are welcome to purchase whatever samples you would like. We are happy to make up samples for you in your selected colours etc, but they cannot be personalised with your details - we will simply use a sample label, tag, ribbon etc.

To order samples, make your colour selections and then simply click on the “Order Sample” button. Alternatively you are welcome to give us a ring to order samples, and speak to a real person !
We aim to post out all sample orders within 1 week, but when busy we have to work in strict function date order, so please be patient with us.

Delivery Times
Chocolate Orders - to ensure you have fresh chocolates, we do not send out orders too far in advance. We make up your order 1 month before your function date, and then contact you to arrange a convenient delivery date, usually 2 – 3 weeks before your function date.
Lollipops & non-chocolate confectionery - we must ensure that all confectionery will be within date at the time of your function, rather than the date on which you place your order. Therefore we will not make up your order until the batch we are using is suitable for your function date.
Chocolate Invitations - in case any of your guests are able to resist eating their chocolate bar as soon as it arrives, we will make sure the chocolate bars are still within date at the time of your function.
Other orders - other orders which do not contain chocolates or confectionery will be delivered within 28 days.

Delivery
All orders are carefully packaged and sent via Recorded Post, Royal Mail Special Delivery or Overnight Carrier, depending on the total order weight. In all cases a signature is required. We can deliver to any UK address – your work, family, friend etc, but someone must be available to receive and sign for your order. We will contact you to arrange a convenient delivery date, and to confirm what address you would like the order to be delivered to. We cannot guarantee Saturday Delivery. Should any damages occur in transit, please notify us within 3 days in writing. We will obviously replace any damaged items.

Split Orders
If you want to split your order into 2 or more deliveries you will incur a carriage charge for each delivery, as we do. Each delivery will be treated as a separate order.

Personalisation
Is available at no extra cost, except for Create Your Own lines.

Colour Matching
Please send a swatch if possible. Due to photography and printing limitations, colours on the Website may not be illustrated exactly.

Ribbon Colour Matching
Although all our ribbon colours are illustrated, we appreciate it can be difficult to match colours from our Website. If you would like to see ribbon colours, please send us a Stamped Addressed Envelope along with a swatch of the colour you are trying to match, and we will happily send you some ribbon snippets for you to select from.

Place Name Favours & Gifts
If you wish to order these please let us have at least 6 weeks notice so that we can allocate time for your order, sort your proof sample and check stock levels. We then don’t need your final list of guest names until 10 – 14 days before your function, and we will deliver your order within 5 working days. Please provide a printed list of guest names !

Chocolate
We only use quality chocolate – our plain chocolate contains 55% cocoa, and our milk chocolate contains 25% cocoa solids & 14% milk solids. There is no vegetable fat in any of our chocolate.

Cancelled Orders & Refund Policy
Personalised orders - A 20% non refundable deposit is required with all orders. This deposit can be transferred to another order, but is not refundable. Cancelled orders will lose their deposit. You will appreciate that a considerable amount of time and effort goes into producing a personalised proof sample, and by its nature it is of no use to anyone else.

Other orders (not personalised in any way) - Under the Distance Selling Regulations you the consumer have the right to cancel your full order / contract within seven days of receiving the goods. If you wish to cancel your order, you must notify us in writing and return the goods to us within seven days of receipt. The return of the goods will be at your own expense. We cannot accept any returns which have been opened, damaged or tampered with in any way.
Under the Distance Selling Regulations consumers cannot cancel an agreement or return goods which have been made to their personal specifications.

Availability
All orders are placed subject to availability. On the rare occasion that we are unable to fulfil your order, we will not be liable for failure to deliver the goods in question.
We reserve the right to discontinue or change products due to unforeseen circumstances. On occasion our suppliers change colours, designs etc. Without notice. There can also be slight differences in product batches, for which we cannot be responsible. We will always inform you of such changes as quickly as possible.

Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice.

We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent.

We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us or from another trader in the future.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

- your name
- address
- phone number
-email address
-credit/debit card details

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.
The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law and the Which? Web Trader Code.

If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.

We may use technology to track the patterns of behavior of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
